Research Interests:
Cultural Studies and Media, Popular Culture, Narrative Theory and Cinema, Science and Religious Discourses, and Organizational CommunicationBefore coming to BYU Hawaii, Dr. Yergensen was Associate Dean of Communication and Media at Dixie State University, and in the past has been recognized with a Teacher of the Year honor and a Distinguished University Service award. He and his wife Celeste are the parents of two daughters and four sons, Emma, Isaac, Ethan, Ammon, Aaron, and baby Adeline. In his spare time he loves being at the beach with his family and cheering at his kids' school events. He was born and raised in Twin Falls, Idaho and learned the importance of hard work, alongside his seven sibling at the family business, from his caring and giving parents, Verl and Connie.
